Simpler Consulting was acquired by IBM in April 2016. This exciting development has opened opportunities for synergistic collaboration between IBM’s technical offerings and Simpler’s expertise in management consulting and process improvement. New technology is most effective when it is understood within the context of current processes and organizational culture. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
§ A minimum of 10 years’ experience of increasing responsibilities, the last two of which include management of a large multi-disciplinary organization.
§ Thorough understanding and demonstrated application of the Toyota Production System®.
§ High-level problem-solving skills.
§ Mentoring and developing others on Lean operations and management systems.
§ Applying change management methods to increase the likelihood of successful change, build buy-in, and ensure sustainability of the change effort.
§ Deep industry expertise.
§ Understanding of business operations, strategies and in-depth business function tactics.
§ Experience coaching and leading team-based improvement events.
§ Significant hands-on process improvement experience including ability to turn strategy into action by creating and sustaining standard work and teaching daily problem-solving techniques that support technical process changes.
§ Passionate self-learner who enjoys teaching others and illuminating concepts with personal examples.

Interpersonal Skills
The candidate should be a proven change agent who is results-oriented and leads an organization through his/her own inspiration and example. Integrity and trust are of utmost importance in the candidate’s ability to achieve the desired results. In addition, the candidate must create an open and transparent atmosphere and be willing and able to work in multi-cultural environments.

§ Deliver sustainable results by teaching and coaching principles and techniques based upon the Toyota Production System®, which includes eliminate waste, create value, improve process flow, develop & document standard work, visual management and pull systems.
§ Serve as a trusted business advisor for senior leaders and managers.
§ Guide clients in the development and implementation of strategy deployment.
§ Coach and transfer knowledge to develop leader behaviors that build a culture of engagement and problem-solving.
§ Develop front-line employees and supervisors by coaching and leading week-long improvement events and daily problem-solving techniques.
§ Build long-term client relationships and engage in business development activities; Build a solid professional network to promote and develop strategic business opportunities.

§ Senior consultants arrive at the client sites at 8AM on Mondays and leave at Noon on Fridays. You will travel two to three weeks per month, depending on your client assignments. Ideally, a senior consultant will be booked three weeks per month with one week in the office.

§ Autonomy with Support: You will be your clients’ primary contact with Simpler. You may work in conjunction with one or two other Simpler members, but for the most part, you will advise your client as you deem appropriate in alignment with the transformation continuum. Of course, experienced Simpler leaders will always be available for consultation, advice, and support.
