Job Description:
IBM Watson Health Clinical Development Team is looking for positive and energetic Software Testers with test automation experience to join our team of healthcare IT software professionals. Working under minimal supervision, the Product Quality Assurance Engineer (Software Test Specialist) ensures development and delivery of quality applications.
The Product Quality Assurance Engineer tests software to find defects in a timely manner prior to product deployment, recommends and implements continuous quality improvement methods to find defects early in the SDLC and works with peers across the SDLC to make improvements resulting in a low defect escape occurrence.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work with the developers, product stakeholders and offering teams to define test requirements for software applications and write test scripts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members on story development, from before development starts through final deployment
  • Perform rigorous regression, exploratory, integration testing using industry leading practices and using a mix of automated and manual testing
  • Discover defects/bugs and work with coders and product owners to determine root cause and how to prevent similar issues from happening in the future
  • Work to ensure that all testing efforts adhere to the SOP’s, WI’s and other related procedures
  • Pursue a program of individual continuous improvement

Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
  • BA/BS in computer information systems, computer science or directly related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in software testing and validation using a mix of automated and manual testing.
  • Experience with programmatic web testing tools such as Selenium/Webdriver
  • Experience in one or more testing frameworks.
  • Experience with determining appropriate test cases at several levels: unit tests, integration tests, functional tests, exploratory tests, regression tests
  • Ability to demonstrate strong Exploratory Testing skills

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
  • 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in software testing and validation using a mix of automated and manual testing.
  • Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, IntelliJ, Jenkins and Git
  • Clinical Trials experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Natural curiosity and desire to continue learning
  • Ability to work well within a co-located cross-functional team
