Position Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of day-to-day operations activities and staff of the data warehouse and is the primary liaison between Watson Health staff and State business unit staff. The Operations Manager is also responsible for managing System Task Requests (STR) related to Solution Change Management-Operational Modifications and the activities associated with Solution Change Management-Maintenance Modifications and System Support. Reports to Account Leader.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Work closely with client services to assure the Data Warehouse (DW) system is meeting the needs of customer and improvements are clearly identified, planned, and communicated
  • Assure contractual SLAs are met, identify corrective actions, and manage resolution activities
  • Coordinate DW technical team work efforts per the change/release management schedule
  • Facilitate DW change and release management
  • Align quality controls with business priorities, coordinate data investigation requests
  • Facilitate prompt, clear and concise communication between DW technical teams, business analysts, and client services
  • Provide status and prompt response to questions regarding DW operations
  • Work with business analysts to establish clearly defined business requirements for change requests
  • Facilitate technical solution with technical team based on business requirements, provide estimated effort and time to complete
  • Manage DW resources assigned to support operations based on account plan and actual effort required to meet demands
  • Coordinate day to day activities of DW team to ensure tasks are on schedule, issues are resolved, documentation is completed, etc.
  • Escalate issues to client services, technical support teams and management as appropriate
  • Ensure standard processes are followed, quality standards are established and met, corrective actions identified and resolved
  • Develop Operations Plan
  • Work with implementation teams to plan and execute transition to operations for new DW systems and approve
  • Must have understanding of the concepts, practices, procedures and deliverables associated with system development, implementation and operations
