Job Description

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years performing a combination of delivery and technical presales roles within the Data Networking and Converged Communications industries. The candidate must have experiences performing professional services, such as architecture and design, implementation and/or managed services. A true “roll up the sleeves and get it done” working approach; Demonstrated success as a problem solver, operating as a result-oriented, self-starter who is comfortable working virtually with teammates and customers.

  • The candidate will be accountable for interfacing directly with end customers and client teams to develop technical solutions that align to the customers' strategic business plans.
  • Proactively scope the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assess customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the firm while securing input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer firm. Adapt solutions to ensure appropriate support, as necessary. Must be creative.
  • Understand IBM’s capabilities/offerings and pair offerings with customer’s needs.
  • Partner with extended internal teams to build comprehensive account plans, ensuring long term customer influence & achievement of sales goals.
  • Help ensure effective cross-functional team (internal & external) engagement from Pre-Sales to Post-Sales.
  • Actively engage with the service enhancement process with Product Management team by attending lesson learned meetings and assist in the develop of new IBM Networking and Converged communication offerings based on market knowledge.
  • Represent IBM at Industry events as a Product Expert and potentially be a speaker at customer events.
  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge of the IBM Networking solutions in both pre-sale and post-sale capacities.
  • Develop and present IBM solutions to internal IBMers, partners and customers.
  • Own and respond to bids, including managing Proof of Concept (POC) or labs from inception to close.
  • Drive design thinking workshops.
  • Perform product demonstrations and presentations at customer sites or IBM locations.
  • Provide coaching and professional development to team member sales associates in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.
