Role Description:

The Project Manager, Network Engineering is responsible for successful delivery of IBM Cloud’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects. This role requires an extraordinary team leader, an astute business person, ability to exhibit exceptional business insight, with executive/boardroom presence and outstanding judgment.

Individuals within this specialty and skill set manage stakeholder engagements, ensuring delivery of solutions for complex Network Engineering, Offering and cross-tribe requirements. They are responsible for leading a project team in delivering a solution to the organization using the appropriate business measurements and terms and conditions for the project according to the project charter, project agreement or contract.

Engagements may be characterized by a complex combination of technical, business, financial, and executive stakeholders identified issues related to the strategic and tactical direction of the program. Programs are normally medium but complex situations that are often global in scope and negotiations are conducted at the highest levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assuming Project Manager duties for network engineering projects;

  • Receiving project requests from the management and working with IBM team to determine the best response and solution;

  • Leads, mentors, and inspires team members cross-functionality to accomplish group goals;

  • Overall performance responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management;

  • Identifies and communicates possible improvements in the work process for project teams and peers;

  • Managing all project resources and for establishing an effective communication plan with the project team and the client (including managing resources that are managing the intake process, estimations, and execution on projects, i.e. PM, Design, Dev, Test);

  • Providing day to day direction to the project team and regular project status to management and other stakeholders.
