Job Description

The Agile Program Manager is responsible for leading a project team in delivering Cloud Application Development solutions to the client, using Agile methods and approaches. This specialty has overall performance responsibility for managing scope and contractual deliverables, applying agile tools & methods. The practitioners in this role can be appointed as Scrum Masters in projects, and have proven knowledge in delivering solutions using Agile methods. This specialty involves sprint planning, leading daily scrum calls, resource assignment, providing technical guidance, task re-assignment, leading retrospectives and reporting sprint progress to the stakeholders. This specialty is required to collaborate closely with the client product managers, business analysts and other stakeholders who are key to successful delivery.

The qualified candidate will have proven experience in working on complex programs of work and will demonstrate the following:
  • Coach teams and organizations in Agile concepts, principles, practices and behaviors
  • Conduct Agile readiness and maturity assessments to baseline Agile practices
  • Identify issues, risks, and recommendations of client operating models
  • Develop learning plan to elevate teams to higher levels of maturity and effectiveness
  • Support practitioners and projects, identifying areas for improvement, developing improvement plans and working with individuals and teams to implement those improvements
  • Perform Scrum Master roles for new teams (if required to mentor others)
  • Present and support Agile education and training activities as required
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills. Utilize facilitation skills to engage and include all team members and encourage a collaborative approach to completing tasks.
  • Expertise with the use of Agile project management tools. Ability to assist the team, as needed, to build skills of planning, goal setting, organising and delivering through collaborative effort.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships.
  • Experience of working with distributed teams and vendors
  • Able to provide suggestions and guidance when assisting the team with working through blockers, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to mentor and coach at the individual, team and project level.
  • Collaborate and leverage contacts in the wider Agile community to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and generate leads for IBM Agile and product offerings
  • Share/Proliferate IBM thought leadership with IBM Account Teams
  • Author Thought Leadership (blogs, articles) to build IBM Eminence
